Art and DT
Totem Poles
Whilst learning about America, we enjoyed looking at and designing different Totem Poles from the Native American times. Our research and designs were brilliant. We then enjoyed working in groups to create our own Totem Pole as part of our Structures topic in DT. Our teamwork was fantastic and the finished designs were excellent!
As part of our Ancient Greece topic, we have enjoyed researching, designing and making Greek Pottery. Our designs were beautiful and we enjoyed working with clay although some of us found it tricky! We also used our computing skills to design some pots online.
We had a brilliant afternoon in DT tasting and analysing different Greek foods. We tasted feta cheese, halloumi, houmous, pitta breads, tzatziki and green and black olives. We are now going to research different Greek dishes and hopefully create our own.

Sewing
As part of our Textiles topic in DT, Year 5 designed and made a beautiful Christmas cushion to give to somebody as a gift. Our sewing skills really improved and the final products were excellent. Well done Year 5.
