It was great to see work posted on the blog or sent by email yesterday. A HUGE well done to those who completed all 3 activities. It was also FANTASTIC to see many of you logging in to our Prize Day Celebrations yesterday and CONGRATULATIONS to all our winners!  This morning, log in to the Pupil of the Year Assembly at  9.00 am to be part of this celebration too. Maths- Potions 

I hope you enjoyed shopping in Diagon Alley yesterday.

Today we are going to potion class with Professor Slughorn. Watch the video so you can feel like you are really there. Once you have done that click on the slides and answer the questions. 

The questions are all about proportion. 
I have given you the recipe for 3 portions. Each recipe also tells you how many doses it makes. I then want you to work out how much ingredients would you need if you wanted to change the dose. 

Eg 

Hair Growth Potion. (Makes 4 doses)

1 frogs foot

4 slugs

8 crushed beetles. 

If you want to work out how much ingredients would you need for 1 dose. 

From 4 doses to 1 dose you have divided by 4. So, do the same to the ingredients. 

1 ÷ 4 = ¼ of a foot.

4 ÷ 4 = 1

8 ÷ 4 = 2

If you want to make 16 doses you need to multiply each ingredients by 4 because from 4 doses to 16 you have multiplied by 4.
