Maths- L.O. Fractions- Non-Unit Fractions

Click on the link below, then click Week 2 and watch the clip ‘Lesson 4- Non-Unit Fractions’.

Then I would like you to click ‘Get the activity’ next to the clip. If you have a printer, please print the activity sheets and complete them. If not, put the short date and objective in your red maths book and work your way through the questions. Please don't feel the need to copy out the questions if it's taking too long, only writing/drawing the answers is fine. I can understand and match your work to the questions.

English/History- L.O. To explain why we celebrate VE Day.

I would like us to learn about VE Day or Victory in Europe Day as tomorrow (8th May) marks 75 years since the Second World War had finally come to an end, after 6 long years!

I would like you to make me a poster all about WHY we celebrate VE Day. Try to think about answering these questions in full sentences on your poster with pictures to support your writing:

When is VE Day?

Why is VE Day celebrated?

How did and do people celebrate VE Day?

What did Prime Minister Winston Churchill do?

What happened at Buckingham Palace?

Art/DT- I would like you to make some beautiful decorations to celebrate VE Day! You could make a Union Jack flag, a hat or some bunting. Please take some time and effort to make them as colourful and effective as you can! Remember to use the colours red, white and blue!

The decorations you make would be lovely to put up/wear around your house if you are having your VE tea party at home tomorrow, just like we would have been having in school! I would LOVE for you to send me a picture of what you have made! Be creative!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend Year 2!

Have fun celebrating VE day tomorrow, if you would like to send in some pictures of your celebrations, please do so!

Love, Miss Dewhurst x
