Maths- Log onto 'Times Table Rockstars'. I would like you to play this for at least 20 minutes.

English- Please find your beginning and build up on the A4 paper of your chapter for the land at the top of the Faraway Tree. Today, we are going to continue our chapter and write the problem- introduce and describe your villain and what they do. Here’s mine as an example:

As the children were enjoying tasting all the delicious, greasy junk food, suddenly, the ground began to tremble...thud, thud, thud. Nervously, as the children looked up, with their hearts pounding and their mouths and fingers covered in rich gravy, they saw a colossal figure, which was as tall as a sky scraper! Focussing their eyes, it was a gigantic, walking ice cream towering over them! Her name was Ice Queen. Ice Queen had a magnificent, crunchy cone body, large, chocolate flake arms and legs, beady, rainbow drop eyes, a long, strawberry lace mouth and a huge, bubble-gum ice cream whip hair do, decorated with multicoloured sprinkles and smarties. Her face was most unimpressed at the children for munching away at her precious land. She was furious! In a loud, deep voice, she demanded that the children should suffer the consequences and be turned into toasted turkey dinosaurs! Immediately, she scooped up the terrified children and began stomping towards the colossal deep fat fryer.

RE- L.O. To know the story of Maundy Thursday.

In the country where Jesus lived, the roads were dusty and dry, so it was custom to wash your feet before a meal (usually it was a lowly servant who did this). The disciples were very surprised by what happened at the beginning of the meal, that we now know as the Last Supper. The story is found in John's Gospel (in the power point below).

On Maundy Thursday, during Holy Week, a special Mass is celebrated and the priest washes people's feet to remind everyone that Jesus did that. Jesus wanted to show his friends how they must behave towards each other- caring for and looking after each other.

Read the power point slides below. Then in your writing journal, please could you put the date and learning objective and answer me these questions.

  1. Why did Jesus wash their feet?
  2. How do you think the disciples felt?
  3. What do you think of Peter’s reaction?
  4. Why does the priest wash people’s feet today?
  5. What does the story tell you about how we should be with others?

*Please try and make some time to read to your adult at some point today and fill in your reading diary!*

I am SO proud of all the work that you are producing and completing Year 2.

Thank you. I miss you all very much. Keep smiling laugh
