I was so impressed with your homework last week and loved hearing how much you enjoyed the comprehension about emperor penguins! Your knowledge certainly helped you to write a brilliant non-chronological report about them this week! Well done 

Here are your last pieces of Autumn term homework to be completed before next Friday 18th December 2020.

Maths

This week, we have been working very hard solving different word problems. Today I sent you home with a Christmas code cracker worksheet and a Christmas tree challenge worksheet. I hope you have fun cracking the codes and using your reasoning skills to solve the challenge!

English

We have also been writing various non-chronological reports this week and practicing our phonics/reading comprehension skills too. As it's your last piece of homework before Christmas, I would like you to read the non-chronological report comprehension about 'Reindeer' that I sent home with you and answer the questions about the text. 

Once you have completed your worksheets, please take a picture of them and put them on the school blog or send them to my email Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk so that I can tick you off in my register.

Reading diary book change days are Mondays and Thursdays.

Please make sure you bring your reading diary and book in on BOTH of these days each week, ready for a new book!

We would like you to be reading 2 whole school books a week so that you are practicing your reading and phonics regularly at home.
