Maths L.O Dividing a number by 10, 100 & 1000

Introduction

We are continuing our work on decimals and today we are learning how to divide a decimal number by 10, 100 and 1000. This  lesson is linked to  your lesson last Thursday. When we are dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 the digits in the number are moving to the left on our place value chart.

If we move the digits 1 column the number gets x 10 smaller.

•If we move the digits 2 columns the number gets x100 smaller

•If we move the digits 3 columns the number gets x1,000 smaller

Make sure you have your pen and Maths book ready and then click on the video to start the lesson. Once you have watched the video and completed the Let's Learn click on the PDF worksheet.

Please use the BLOG or Email your work.
