Wednesday 3rd March

Good morning Year 2, I hope you are all well!

3 days left of virtual learning!! Today in Maths we are counting the edges on 3D shapes, in English we are reading Chapter 6 and describing different characters from the story and finally, as it's Wednesday, we have another music lesson planned by Mrs Jones! Remember to log in and join me on teams if you are working from home, I have another fun quiz for you to have a go at this morning!

Below are your lessons for today. Please keep on working hard and trying your best to complete all your tasks to a brilliant standard. Remember to email your work to Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk or put it on our school blog.

Every day, please find time to log onto www.getepic.com/students using our class code to read one of your assigned books or a book of your choice. This is very important as I am using this website to monitor your reading at home.

Also, please log onto Times Table Rock Stars daily to practice your times tables, which will help to up your confidence and speed! This is also a great way to compete against your friends and earn lots of coins for your character!

Maths

L.O. Count edges on 3D shapes.

Please watch the learn screen below.

Then, I would like you to answer the questions from the worksheets in your red book. You do not need to write out the questions, just answer the questions in the neatest way you can. If you wish to print the worksheets, that is also fine.

English

L.O. To identify and explore characters.

Please put the date and L.O. in your writing book.

Then I would like you to listen to the video (on the school videos section of our website) where I will read you chapter 6 of 'The Enchanted Wood'.

For your task, I would like you to draw and colour a small picture of each character from the book (Moonface, Silky, Mr Watzisname and Dame Washalot) down the left hand side of your page, then at the side of your pictures, describe their personality and what they look like.

Please write in full sentences, use lots of creative adjectives and your best handwriting!

Music

Hello Year 2!

Mrs Jones here and this is your music lesson today. We are going to visit the lovely Ms Boyd again at the Oak Academy. She will help you remember all about what ‘pitch’ means in music. Then you are going to play some fun singing games together and sing some songs. You are also going to follow the pitch using your hands like you did last week. I hope you enjoy this lesson.  I can’t wait to see you all again in school next week!
