Good morning Year 2, I hope you are all well and have had a lovely half term break! 

I have been on walks with my dog called Lola and doing some painting, I hope you have been doing lots of fun activities too! The weather has certainly started to be a little bit warmer with longer, lighter days! Spring is coming! This half term we will be studying the book called 'The Enchanted Wood' by Enid Blyton which is an amazing story book that we can do lots of creative writing from in English, learning about our local environment in Science and also learning about life on the farm in Geography! I'm sure you will enjoy these topics!

Below are your lessons for today. Please keep on working hard and trying your best to complete all your tasks to a brilliant standard. Remember to email your work to Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk or put it on our school blog. 

Every day, please find time to log onto www.getepic.com/students using our class code to read one of your assigned books or a book of your choice. This is very important as I am using this website to monitor your reading at home.

Also, please log onto Times Table Rock Stars daily to practice your times tables, which will help to up your confidence and speed! This is also a great way to compete against your friends and earn lots of coins for your character!

Then, I would like you to answer the questions from the worksheets in your red book. You do not need to write out the questions, just answer the questions in the neatest way you can. If you wish to print the worksheets, that is also fine.

In your home learning pack, please find your CGP KS1 Comprehension Book. Please could you read the comprehensions on page 12 and page 13 and answer the questions. 

Once you have done this, please click on the link below which will take you to the Phonics Play game 'Buried Treasure'. In this game, you will sort real words from nonsense words. You do not need to log in, just click start. Click on phase 5 and choose any of the blends that you wish to practice. If you want a challenge, try the split digraphs 'a_e, o_e, e_e, i_e, u_e'. See how you get on, you can always try phase 3 or 4 if it's too tricky for you.
