St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

February 2017

Mrs McKeating and Mrs Carlile went to visit Tia in hospital. They took with them some cards from her friends at school, our school chaplains and from everyone at PETAL. We also took some gifts from all the staff at the Sealife Centre in Blackpool.

Mrs Taylor had the honour of placing the pin in the map at the Antarctic. Well done Mrs Taylor for your hard work and perseverance.

For the last 10 months, Mrs Taylor has worked tirelessly to get an Angel to our final continent, Antarctica. She has finally managed it. Here we have John, the Doctor, Kata the pilot of the plane and our Angels at the Toll Research Station. Lee is the gentleman riding his bike and he has been in contact with us as he travels all over the world and will be taking some Angels with him.

This is Lee at the Antarctic.

Lee, cycling across the Antarctic! You can see the Research Station in the background which is where our Angels live.

This is the view our Angels have every day. Simply amazing.

Mrs Carlile went to visit Tia in HDU at The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

Padiham Saints U6,U7,U8,U9 and U10 teams with our Angels showing their support for Tia whilst she is poorly in hospital.

This Angel was given to Sandra and Richard by Pete and Vicky (Mrs Collins' parents) on Celebrity Solstice which is cruising from Honolulu to Sydney. So far they have taken pictures in Maui and Bora Bora. Today they are in Papeete, Tahiti. They send their love to Tia.

This Angel made the most of her long summer break from University. She has been ziplining in Grizedale Forest, to Dunluce Castle (aka the pyke in game of thrones - home of house greyjoy and caspers castle in the chronicles of narnia), onto the Giants Causeway, ran the Blackpool illuminations 10 km and went for a coffee in Central Perk even getting a peek through Monica's door!

This angel forgot it was half term and wondered why school was shut !

This is Sarah Collins from the News Team at 2BR. She climbed up to Laidlaw at the top of Boulsworth Hill - Pendle is in the background. Sarah has signed herself up to walk 100km in 24 hours. She is raising money for the Alzheimer's Society. She was interviewed on 2BR today about her Grandma, who has been her inspiration to do this challenge. Her Angel is helping her train and will be by her side whilst she walks the 100km.

Mrs Byrom's Angel had such a busy day at work today. She was definitely ready for brew time! Everyone on the site sends Tia their best wishes.

It would appear that Mrs Glynn's Angel was feeling rather helpful. She has been helping with the cleaning and the washing.

Lots of photos sent in from staff and children to cheer Tia up whilst she is in hospital.

Mrs Collin's Angel was a bit naughty this morning. Firstly, she tried to eat her daughter's breakfast. Then she dived into the egg! How naughty! It wanted some eggy bread!

"Close your eyes", she says. "I'll make you look beautiful", she says. Gives me an angel kiss on the forehead and says "what do you think?" What do I think?. Mrs T can't possibly go to Tesco looking like this. Half Term madness Mrs T thinks.

APOLOGIES TO TESCO IN PADIHAM 😇😆😇😆😇😆😇😆😇😆😇😆😇

Earlier, Mrs C double dared Mrs T to go shopping to Tesco with all the lipstick on her face that her Angel had done and have her photo taken with a member of staff.

Now Mrs C had been a bit naughty here as she knows that when she double dares Mrs T, Mrs T will deliver. She has not disappointed.

Mrs T, you are a true sport for going this and I'm certain this will bring a smile to a lot of people. X 😇😇😇

Caught this little Angel eating cake for BREAKFAST!! She is now on the naughty chair. Turn you back for one minute and this happens! This angel is so desperate for it to snow and couldn't wait any longer, so instead, she sneaked the flour out of the cupboard and did snow angels and tried to build a snowman. Back to the naughty chair for you.

You will probably notice that some of our Angels have become rather mischievous today! We thought it would be a lovely idea to try and make Tia smile from her hospital bed. Please join in this Angel Mission with us. I'm sure they will bring comfort to the family at this difficult time. Mine went with me to the dentist this morning for a check-up. Thankfully, she doesn't need to go back for another 6 months. A big thank you to Mike Glover and staff at The Dental Practice in Brierfield. They now have a resident Angel.

This Angel went to the PRTAL Charity Ball. A great night was had with lots of fundraising.

This Angel visited New York and Washington DC with a group of young adults from Burnley College.

This lucky Jet Set Angel had a ride in a small plane and the pilot flew very close to the mountain tops on the way to Milford Sound. She then had another ride on a boat and saw waterfalls, fur seals and dolphins. She really is enjoying her holiday in New Zealand!

Preston Guild Hall - Snooker

Mrs McKeating met this gentleman who was Nelson Mandela's Body Guard.
