St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Tuesday 26th January

Good morning Year 6!

Well done on yesterday's work all those that blogged and emailed. I saw lots of excellent co-ordinate work. We really enjoyed learning about Chile on the Oak Academy website and rocked out to the sentences song in English. What learning have you got today? Come on, get your books and pens out and let's get going...

PE

Today's exercise choices:

1. Go outside for a refreshing walk.

2. Click on the link to Go Noodle and complete 3 of your favourite routines.

(We completed Banana Banana Meatball and Fresh Start in school).

3. Have a go at the Bingo Challenge Mr Steele has put on the main Class Page - this looks fun!

READING

Today's epic readers are Charlotte, Dylan, Julia and Theo. A huge well done to these children for increasing the total number of books read in Year 6. A few Year 6 pupils have still not logged on to the getepic website. Look on our Year 6 blog for a post I put on 8.1.21. It tells you how to get on this website and what your log in is. Click on your initials and start reading a book of your choice. Aim for 10 - 15 minutes of reading each day.

I want to see everybody logged on to this website.

Good luck with all your learning! Let's get going with today's 3 activities...

Below are your tasks for today. Remember if you need to ask any questions go to the class blog and add a comment to 26-1-21 TODAY'S WORK. Keep checking the comments on this BLOG because that is where we will post our replies to you.

1. Watch the White Rose clip with your pen and maths book ready to answer your teacher's questions.

2. Download the worksheet and complete the questions either on a printed copy of the sheet or in your maths book.

3. Check your work against the answer sheet. DO NOT COPY from the answer sheet.

4. If you found this sheet too tricky, select the easier option below and complete those questions.

5. It you want a challenge, select that option.

6. Blog or email me your work in the normal way.

FRENCH

LO: To explore French speaking countries

This week for French we have something slightly different - we have a lesson from the Oak Academy. There are three lesson that we will complete over the next three weeks, so it is important that you complete the tasks, as you will need the new vocabulary and phrases for future lessons.

The lesson for today can be found by clicking on the link below - this will take you to the correct page on the Oak Academy website.

As you watch the video, join in with the teacher just like you would if we were together in class. Repeat the new phrases, and have a go at the multiple choice questions. Part way through the video there is a table to complete - you will need to pause the video at this point to give you time to complete the task in your books. When you restart the video, check your answers carefully - make sure your spelling is correct and you have included accents in the right place.

The second task on the video asks you to translate 3 sentences. Please complete this task in your book, and then once the video has finished we would like you to translate the four sentences below.

I am Scottish (boy speaking)

I am Welsh (girl speaking)

I am English (girl speaking)

I am Irish (boy speaking)

We hope you enjoy the lesson. Please email or blog any pictures of your work in the normal way.
