Awards

Monday 4th January

Good morning Year 2,

I hope you are all well and staying safe. heart

Here are your lessons for today. Remember to email your work to Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk or put it on our school blog. I hope you enjoy!

P.E

Let's start our Monday morning off with a bit of exercise and get our blood pumping! Here is an exercise video for you to join in with!

Maths

L.O. To recognise equal groups.

Please watch the learn screen below.

Then, I would like you to answer the questions from the worksheets. Please ONLY write the answers to the worksheets, you DO NOT need to copy out the questions/pictures. If you wish to print them, that is also fine.

English

L.O. To research and collect facts.

I would like you to use any non-fiction books or the internet to find out facts about a species of owl of your choice. You can either print and complete the 'Owl fact file' worksheet below, or just answer the questions from the worksheet on A4 paper like an informative poster.

Art

To sketch a barn owl.

Here is a photograph of a barn owl. Please could you draw this barn owl as accurately as you can, picking out all the little details and shapes that you can see. Draw your barn owl to a good size on A4 paper. Remember to draw lightly first, then when you're happy, you can go over it. You may use crayons to colour it in.

RE

Checking in- Community

At the start an RE topic, you answer 'Checking in' questions to see what you know, before I begin teaching you the topic. Then, at the end of the topic, I give you the same questions again where we should see good progress with your answers! Please answer the questions below and do your best, I don't want you to research anything or ask an adult for the answers.

Here are your questions to answer:

1. What books do you think are important and why?

2. Make a list of things that the Church community celebrate throughout the year.

Thank you for your hard work, Year 2!

Love, Miss Dewhurst x
